Jeffery Hiltner was born in Melrose to Alphonse G. and Donna Mae W. (Olmscheid) Hiltner. He graduated from Melrose High School and attended Rasmussen Business College for two years. He was employed by his brother's construction company, WJH Construction, Anoka, for two years. He was currently employed by DKD Construction
in Melrose. He also was in the Army National Guard in Sauk Centre. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Leo's Court Catholic Order of Foresters, New Munich baseball team and New Munich Jaycees.
Survivors include his father of Melrose; brothers and sisters, William of Anoka, Ann Uphoff, Angela and Jason of Melrose, and Amy Oleson of Little Falls.

NEW MUNICH - Last Sunday morning, Mr. Mich. Hiltner, the oldest member of our parish, died here. Well supported by the final sacraments of the Catholic church. The deceased was born 89 years ago in Irlbach, Bavaria. In 1848, he came with his family to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he stayed for ten years and then came to settle on a farm near New Munich, where he has since lived, assembling a large circle of friends who now join the family in mourning the passing of good father Hiltner.
On Monday, the Rev. M. Hiltner, pastor of Mt. Carmel in North Dakota, came here and officiated at a solemn requiem high mass for his expired grandfather, who was consigned to his final rest on Tuesday morning, after a beautiful and moving eulogy delivered by our pastor, Fr. Leo O.S.B. The deceased was accompanied by the members of the St. Joseph's Men's Society, of which he was a member, and a large body of mourners with his brother George, there grieve the death of the departed his two sons John and Michael, and daughter Helen. May he rest in peace!

Lived in Stearns County Over Seventy Years - Funeral Held Here Monday.
The death of Michael Hiltner, well known and highly respected resident of this city, occurred at his home Friday August 11th [1933]. Death was due to complications with which he had been ailing for over twenty years.
The funeral was held Monday morning at the St. Boniface church with Rev. J. Willenbrink officiating. The pall bearers were: Herman Jennings, John Schiemann, Chas. Pimpl, Henry Krips, Jos. Noll and Henry Loosbroek. Max Adrian was cross bearer.
Michael Hiltner was born at Belfast, Ohio, November 4, 1854, and was past 78 years of age at his death. When seven years of age his parents came to Stearns county and homesteaded on a farm a mile south east of New Munich. He was married to Anna Borchers at New Munich on September 24, 1878. They lived on a farm near there until 1889 when they came to Melrose and have resided here since.
Besides his wife, he is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. H. J. Adrian of Sauk Centre. Parents: Michael HILTNER Sr..

Mr. Hiltner was 42 years of age, and is survived by Mrs. Hiltner and one son, Jerome, both of St. Cloud. Four sisters reside in Montana, Minneapolis and St. Cloud, while a brother John, lives in St. Cloud.
The remains will be at the Hiltner home until Monday, when funeral services will be held from the St. Mary's church with a 9 oclock [sic] requiem mass. Burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.
Before forced to the sanatorium because of ill health, Mr. Hiltner was a stone cutter for a St. Cloud firm. He was particularly active in Catholic social functions, and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
